Fifth Informal Thematic Session for Global Compact on Migration

The first phase of the preparatory process for the global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration will include a series of six informal thematic sessions, organized by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) President. The fifth thematic session will convene from 4-5 September 2017, at the UN Office in Vienna, Austria, and will address, ‚Smuggling of migrants, trafficking in persons and contemporary forms of slavery, including appropriate identification, protection and assistance to migrants and trafficking victims‘.
